Mitsubishi’s all new Pajero Sport SUV to debut in 2015



Modern day pick up truck platforms enjoy long product life cycles mainly due to the utility bent of these vehicles. Also, since the body-on-ladder frames underpinning most pick up trucks see few changes barring the occasional weight reduction effort, pick up trucks sold by most brands continue to motor on with cosmetic facelifts and improved engines, making for longer life cycles.

2014 Mitsubishi Challenger Launched in Australia


Mitsubishi has officially launched the 2014 Challenger SUV aka Pajero Sport in Australia and is now available as a four-wheel drive models only (4WD). The company has removed the list of Challenger 2WD models in the Australian market, but the model gets some revisions to its exterior, including front bumper, grille and tail lights.

The entry-level 2014 Mitsubishi Challenger will go on sale at Australian dealerships with a starting price of $42,490 (MRRP) for the 4WD manual models, while the automatic version starts at $44,990 (MRRP). The new Challenger 4WD LS with automatic transmission have a MRRP (Manufacturer’s Recommended Retail Pricing) of $49,990.

2013 Mitsubishi Pajero Sport Limited Officially Unveiled


Mitsubishi Indonesia (KTB) has officially launched the refreshed 2013 Pajero Sport Limited at the Plaza Senayan in Jakarta, Indonesia today (24/05). This limited edition model comes with some refreshment and important revisions to its exterior, but the interior changes are limited.

The updated model gets an aerodynamic body kit on the front and rear bumpers, as well as LED daytime running lights. In addition, there are also Limited badge which is embedded in the rear end of the vehicle. Interior changes are limited, but we can see some exclusive features on this SUV, which includes a 2-DIN Audio/Multimedia system, GPS navigation and rear camera.

Under the hood, there are no changes or revisions to the engine and the new Pajero Sport Limited is still powered by a turbocharged 2.5-liter common-rail diesel engine that can offer two different outputs.

Pajero Sport receives ‘off-roader of the year’ award from BBC Top Gear

Mitsubishi’s SUV Pajero Sport, which was launched by Hindustan Motors Ltd. this March, has been adjudged Off-roader of the Year 2012 by auto magazine BBC Top Gear.
Mr. Uttam Bose, Managing Director, Hindustan Motors Ltd., received the prestigious award at a gala function organized by BBC Top Gear at the Kingdom of Dreams in Gurgaon on December 10.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Bose said, “This award is yet another endorsement of Pajero Sport’s invincibility across all terrains, especially the rough and tough one. This mighty sport utility vehicle, which has the unique distinction of having won the world’s toughest car contest – Dakar Rally – consecutively for 13 times, is a testimony to the strong collaboration between Hindustan Motors and Mitsubishi Motors Corporation of Japan.”

Mitsubishi ready for Dakar Rally


An official Dakar supplier, Mitsubishi will be the best represented brand on the rally, with an impressive fleet of vehicles used by the organizers…

Mitsubishi boasts a significant footprint in the Dakar’s history, with 12 titles picked up between 1985 and 2007, by 9 different drivers! This year, the Japanese firm will not be expected so high in the standings but it is already ensured of playing a primordial role in the race, because it has now become an official Dakar supplier. To supervise the competitors, scout the tracks ahead of the race or take position at the time-check points, deployment of the organiser’s teams has to be orchestrated with the greatest of care. In order to do this, they will be taking advantage of 43 specially prepared vehicles to carry out all their missions, between Lima and Santiago. Tuned-up to tackle the dunes, the Pajero and L200 Triton were proudly presented by Fernando Julianelli, Marketing Director for Mitsubishi Brazil: “We are proud to be assisting the Dakar. There was no way that best performing all-terrain brand could remain absent from the biggest rally in the world. It is also another opportunity for us to continue developing our 4x4s and to demonstrate their resistance”.
